Creams for Treating Ringworm

Treating ringworm infections can be like trying to find a needle in a haystack, as the expression goes. There are so many treatments out there for ringworms that it is hard to know what is for real and what product is a joke. From topical creams to home remedies like raw vegetable juice or papaya, many treatments are available in all forms and usually can be purchased in any medicine shop, as well as stores like Wal-Mart and those that run a pharmacy section of their store.

However, the most successful treatments for ringworms seem to be topical creams that people apply to their ringworm diseases, and many of them can even be found while searching on the World Wide Web. Here are several suggestions of topical creams that are excellent for treating ringworm, and that can be purchased at any store.

1. Lamisil. This would probably be the number one over the counter topical treatment for ringworms on the market today. The active ingredient in Lamisil is called Terbinafine. Terbinifine's purpose is mainly to stop the fungus from growing. It essentially kills the main source that the ringworm uses to spread and grow. You can also think of Terbinifine as a weed killer, stopping whatever helps it grow in its tracks. Lamisil is the one cream that can be put on the ringworm infection that includes this active ingredient. Lamisil can also be purchased in capsule form and taken orally, and all you need to do is ask your local pharmacist about it. Of course if there are other generic brands that also include Terbinifine, these will also help to stop the growth of the ringworm fungus.

2. Monistat or Micatin. This is another topical cream that can be applied directly to the ringworm disease. Instead of Terbinifine, this cream includes the active ingredient Miconazole. This works much in the same way as Lamisil does, but does have other uses besides being used to treat fungal infections like human ringworms.

3. Ringworm No More. This product is marketed by Forces of Nature Oils Company and can be found at their website, www.fonoils.com. This product claims to cure ringworms in a week, and they even say that ringworms are guaranteed to be cured. Ringworm No More is actually a topical treatment, and one bottle of it contains drops that you place on your ringworm infection daily in order to fight the ringworm off. This treatment is all natural, as the website says, and even explains how this wonderful medication works and fights off the ringworm.

It does not matter which ringworm cream that you use, but whatever it is, be sure that results can be seen at least within two to two and a half weeks into the use of the cream or medicine that you use for the ringworm infection. The sooner a person treats their ringworm infection, the sooner they have the freedom to live without the disruption of the ringworm fungus!
